NEW JOHN SOUTHWORTH ALBUM TO BE RELEASED ON TIN ANGEL
One of Canada’s most distinctive and revered music artists will be releasing his new double album Niagara this coming autumn on Tin Angel Records. Niagara presents nine rich, expansive songs on the Canadian side, with eleven mirrored counterparts on the American. The result is a multi-faceted, one-of-a-kind album - a collection of ingeniously crafted songs blending a distinct selection of popular song and folk styles. UK born, Canadian raised and Toronto-based singer-songwriter John Southworth explains “There is Canadian music and there is American music. This record is the first of its kind that I know of to be divided by a border. Each side a simultaneous interpretation of the same crisis.”
John Southworth's songs have been covered by or written for fellow Canadian artists Sarah Slean, Buck 65, Martin Tielli (Rheostatics), Veda Hille, Hawksley Workman and Jully Black, and he continues to garner praise from the likes of Canadian artists Feist, Ron Sexsmith and Gonzales.
